Peace out with Lepidolite

The gorgeous gemstone Lepidolite is often referred to as the Peace Stone. It can bring a calmness to the wearer and helps in relaxing and soothing emotions, especially in difficult and troubled times. It has so many benefits and is often used for dream work like re-birthing or for recalling your dreams. Many healers use it as a protective stone and it can bring success in your career and for business. It is a wonderful stone to wear if one suffers emotional issues, and can aid in reducing high levels of stress, anger and  trauma. Good for suffers of  panic attacks or severe depression and it has a relaxing and calming effect for manic – depression.

I believe in surrounding this lovely gemstone with the soft subtle use of pearls as Pearl also calm the senses and are wonderful gems to wear during menopause or to balance the hormones. I make a large variety Lepdiolite gemstone doughnut pendant necklace that I would like to share here. Your can purchase the high end pieces on all the Julleen website and some are available in our Etsy store.

3 Pearl Rope Necklace in Sterling Silver – Beach Theme

I made this necklace for a Beach Themed Wedding and thought it was worth sharing. I’ve just added some of these designs to my Etsy Shop – Julleen Jewels. The necklace is made entirely of organic components, which the bride insisted on at the time. I liked adding the natural rope braid instead of leather. Rope just made it feel ..well…more beachy! See if you agree.

A Tudor Style Abalone Pendant Necklace with Garnets and Pearls in Sterling Silver.

I imported some Red abalone glazed cabs from USA many years ago.  The great thing about glazing abalone shells is that you can create amazing almost magical, colour tones, in whatever shade you like and my favourite is Red. Of course it protects the very fine slithers of shell from cracking or flaking and definitely stops the shells from drying out. The results are stunning. I then went about setting the cabochons into a pearl and red garnet encrusted sterling silver pendant. You can see this very regal look seems like something from the Tudor dynasty era.

The Beauty about manufacturing your own pendants with your own gemstones and pearls is that you can use them in many different designs. I usually like this pendant used with black leather bolo and white button pearls all set with gorgeous variegated sterling silver components. Today I put a new design on Etsy for a very special price and thought I would share it with you here.

Bright Colour Gemstone and Pearl Earrings

I just made a little collection of four new earrings in gold vermeil. I have used sterling silver for so long now thinking everyone likes pure metals, and the fad for sterling goes on and then I looked at the huge range of  gold vermeil spacers and other components I stock, to make for some very interesting, ethnic looking earrings. Here’s a quick squizz at some lovely gemstone combinations in striking colours. All are genuine gemstones and pearls in some combinations that you won’t see anywhere else. Hope you like them.

and if you’d like to purchase a few…we only stock these on our Etsy store.

Copying others’ material for blogs. Not for me.

I have to constantly check the input by others’ comments on my blog here. The spammers are not the least bit original. All they seem to enter  is silly wording and invites, asking if I would like to copy wording/articles from some google site or another. The thing is, copying in any form, is not what I do and truly not what I want to ever be doing. In what sort of world are we living that copying is okay? In the real world copying is punishable. The internet seems to be the place where copying is totally acceptable. In my my own creative world of making pearl jewellery and blogging about it, I like to set trends, I like to create my own designs and I like to write articles in my own words in my blog. Making my own designer jewellery is a very fulfilling experience and I really love creating my own articles in my own words. For any artistic project you have to be inspired and the word “creating” in my books, means “making something from one’s own hands and from one’s own images seen through one’s own eyes”. Here’s a Julleen pink pearl jewellery set, I visualized and went about making. I’ve never seen it elsewhere, as I created it from conception to marketing it. I call it the Pink Musk Pearl Jewellery Set.

Happy Valentine’s Day

With Love in the air on this very special day for couples and wanna be couples, I just couldn’t help but think how wonderful life is when you’re in-love. For couples of any age, this is the day, that like no other, has romance in the air. Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. May all your wishes come true and may your special someone be close to you for as long as you both shall live.

Black Baroque Pearl Earrings

I am so pleased to say that the last Julleen Black baroque pearl earring E072.06  was bought by a lady in New York from our Etsy store. We’re experiencing some good response from US clients of late (must be the exchange rate). Here are some new designer earrings that may please the people who missed out on that last pair. I’ll try to make more of the version with swing soon, however the current design sits like a stud earring and does not swing like the previous one. If you love the “different” then you’ll most probably love these charming Big Black Baroque and Sterling silver earrings. All beautifully bezel set by hand in thick substantial Hallmarked sterling silver.

Gold Pearl and Carnelian Necklace with Tourmaline

If you’ve ever wondered what rough carnelian looks like then here’s your chance. I fell in love with these rough orange gemstone nuggets and thought immediately how lovely they’d look with gold pearls. There are all sorts of gold pearls of course but the pearls presented here are a peachy/gold colour. They are all ringed baroque and oval pearls. This was a project of love as these pearls were difficult to match up but so worth the effort, as I think you’ll find here.

To enhance the orange toned carnelian which almost looks like candied fruit,  I’ve added amber facetted citrine beads and some lovely 5 mm facetted watermelon tourmaline beads. The sterling silver with some gold vermeil spacers also, really made this design all come together beautifully. As a lariat design this allows you, to wear the necklace in a long style with a long drop front but you can twist the necklace around a few times and wear it as a bracelet, or as a double row necklace. Having a long pearl necklace, makes for a versatile jewellery piece every time!
